I need something to read now that I have healed almost completely from having my "Vampire" series end.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Well, Dennis I checked this book out yesterday & finished it today & I hope you're OK with being totally responsible for the neglect of my home and family for the past 48 hours.
It was... how do I describe this book? Not really a fun read. Mind-blowing, yes, disturbing, yet courageous and somehow hopeful. I hope the 2nd book lives up to the first. I got a little weary about half-way through the book, Octavian is so unemotional, it's hard to feel for a character with such little apparent feeling himself. & his life & the College is so fantastical. But it was very interesting. & based on some historical fact. The book definitely got better towards the end. His mother is a fascinating character & a few scenes with her brought tears to my eyes. We'll have to talk about it next time I see you!
